History: Ferris was born into a comfortable upper-class existence in an uptown Jewish neighborhood. His father did accounting and taxes for the Giorgettis, so the two families were always close. After mastering several statewide intelligence exams, Ferris was labeled as gifted and recommended for private school. Incidentally, the best academy in Southport happened to be a Catholic school. Because his last name did little to hide his family's background, he did not have an easy time getting through school. He kept any bullying or teasing to himself, determined not to whine or disappoint his parents. In time, he found that acting angry and bitter tended to successfully keep people away.
